Communications Skills Course

Thank you for your interest in joining us for this year's course on end-of-life communication in the ICU. The course has been developed by CRI Critical Care Education Network in collaboration with the End-of-Life Coaching Team pillar and Dr. Laura Hawryluck of the Ethical Issues of Access pillar of the Critical Care Secretariat of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

We are very excited about this year's programme. We are building on the success of last year's course by expanding the curriculum into a 2-day programme. The highlight of the course is a series of high-fidelity communication scenarios, presented by specially-trained simulated family members and facilitated by experts in communication. Participants will have the opportunity to practice communication strategies in a safe environment and receive detailed, personalized feedback. The scenarios are supplemented by didactic presentations and small group discussions.
